After five long months...

... we finally had the upstairs carpeting installed! I uploaded the pics so Mom can see them, but I figure you'll enjoy them to Grandma!

These are of Padma's room-furniture will be put in next week.

These are of the hallway...

This one is of the master bedroom. We are ordering new furniture and it should hopefully be here in a few weeks. This old house is finally starting to feel like home!

Padma's 2nd month... so far.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Padma is getting so big, so fast and changing so quickly as well. She's smiling all the time - well mostly in the morning, she's really starting to show us her personality too. She is a snuggle bug and she really craves physical contact and lots of love and attention. I am having so much fun being at home with her. Follow the link below to view some more pics of her second month.

Sarah and Brock's Wedding

Friday, August 28, 2009

Check out the photos from a beautiful wedding I went to this week. Padma was such a good little baby during the wedding reception and slept like an angel in her HotSling for hours. I had such a wonderful time visiting with my family and introducing Padma to her Great-Grandmother, great-aunts and uncle, and 2nd cousins. It was really hard to be away from Dave for such a long time though. I feel so much more attached to him since Padma's birth. I really had no idea that I could be anymore attached! I don't think I will be leaving him for a week again for awhile. Being on my own made me realize just how lucky I am to have Dave's support. It would be so hard to be a single mom. I have a much greater respect for mom's who have to do this on their own.

Who does this look like???

A Sad Day

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Padma had her one month appointment yesterday which unfortunately meant her second Hepatitis B vaccine. She was breastfeeding when the nurse came in to give her the shot so the nurse gave it to her while she was still latched. She pulled off, turned bright red, and screamed the most pathetic and sad cry I've ever heard. I had to try really hard not to cry myself. Padma then latched on again but continued to whimper a bit while she nursed. It was just incredibly sad. Next month, she has to get several vaccines and I am pretty scared about it. It's going to be awful!

As for the good news, Padma is PERFECT! She has grown an inch, gained a pound and 14 oz, and her head is a centimeter and a half bigger. That makes her size - 22 1/4 inches long, 10 pounds, and her head measures 39 cm. Which puts her in about the 90th percentile all around. Big girl!! Here are a few recent pictures of her. She is likes tummy time much better than I thought she would, though she doesn't lift her head much yet. The first time she had tummy time she fell asleep almost immediately. The other photos are just of her being adorable... :)

gDiapers it is!

Monday, August 17, 2009

So after a very long deliberation, and several trials, we have finally decided on the best diapers for us. We will definitely be using the gDiapers. They are cloth on the outside, they have a plastic snap-in liner, and a 100% biodegradable disposable inner liner. They are also ADORABLE! They don't leak any more than a regular diaper and they aren't as difficult to deal with as cloth diapers. They aren't as cheap as I would like them to be but at least I can feel good about our environmentally friendlier choice.
