Pregnancy Update

Friday, January 16, 2009

It's been a while. I'd like to be able to say that I've been really busy but the truth is, I've just been really lazy. I blame it on pregnancy. In fact, it seems that any strange malady that has appeared as of late can be attributed to the little one I'm gestating in my belly. Bleeding gums, constipation - which has truly been the joy of my pregnancy, headaches, the lung capacity of a 90 year old with emphysema, porn star boobs... the list goes on. The good news is that I have survived the first trimester and dealing with all the strangeness listed above is worth getting past the nausea and exhaustion of the first three months. My mood has improved as well which makes Dave a much happier husband.

We are so excited to find out the sex on February 5th and though I have not felt the baby moving yet, when I lay on my back I can feel that there is something not quite me in there. It's a pretty incredible sensation and I get so excited already that I can't imagine the feeling of the first little kicks. I am starting to show now too. Though it could be argued that this is actually just my impacted bowels or as Dave likes to call it, my poop babies. I'm determined to keep the faith that my protruding belly is all baby!

The next six months should prove to be insanely busy unfortunately. Dave and I are in the process of buying our first house, I am finishing my last semester of school, we are currently dog sitting for my friends poodle until May (which makes three dogs under our care), Dave is completing the illustrations for the children's book he's been illustrating, and the game that he's been working on at VV is set to be completed in June. Wish us luck.
