Getting Shots and Getting Big!

Friday, January 22, 2010

Padma had her 6 month appointment and she is healthy and strong as ever! She is developing perfectly and reached all of her 6 month milestones on time. She is now sitting up, saying mamamama and babababa, standing holding onto something or someone, and she is even starting to try pulling her knees up when she is on her belly. I'm scared because this house is not yet baby proofed! I guess we have a project to start... She had some more shots which was hard on us all again and her percentiles are 75 for head, 50 for length, and 30 for weight. While she did not double her birth weight, which is expected by 6 months, she is doing really well and it is not a cause for concern.

I started a new job recently taking care of another 6 month old and his 2 year old sister one day a week. It's a lot of hard work, but the kids are great and I anticipate an adorable friendship for the three kids. Padma seemed to enjoy hanging out and having other kids to stare at and hold hands with.

I know that I am not as good about the blog as I once was, but as Padma grows, so does her demand for attention and stimulating activity leaving me little time for things like this. I'm trying though and I appreciate that no one has given me much guilt for my dwindling updates. I'm looking at you mom and Grandma! Enjoy the new pictures!

falling miserably behind!

I know, it's been a long while since I posted. In fact, it's been a month. Padma is now 6 months old and I can't even believe it! She is growing up so quickly and while I am super happy that she is growing exactly how she is supposed to, she's happy and healthy, I really want things to slow down! She is such an amazing little person and I just love to hold and smell her! It's insanity. She is rolling all over the place now, as well as sitting up, struggling to reach things out of her grasp, and FREAKING out if you take a toy that she is really enjoying. All good signs! We go for her next appointment on Thursday and I am excited to see her weight, height, and percentile. She is eating solids like a pro now and even is really enjoying Cheerios. Thanks to my gal pal Joanna for passing those delightful little circles our way! I forgot just how tasty those things are. She loves apples, pears, prunes, sweet potatoes, and carrots, she tolerates peas, and she HATES squash. Padma is an absolute joy to have around. She is so easy, happy, and uncomplicated. If she's fussy it is always one of three easy fixes - poop, sleep, or food. I think she may be the coolest kid in the whole world and I am so lucky to be her Mama.
